How It Works

1. You can choose a structure that is currently featured on our website or just
choose a style that meets your needs. Since we are a custom design firm,
we can make any alterations that you would like to the exterior and
interior. You can also send us a sketch or photo of a structure that you
would like to build. We will then discuss all pertinent information such as
the use for the structure, personal preferences and possibly make
suggestions for your design.
2. Once we have gathered enough information we will send preliminary
sketches if the structure is a custom design. Once approved, we will send
a proposal for your structure. If agreed upon, a contract will be emailed to
you. You need only to print it out and send it to us signed with an initial
deposit. At this time you will need to provide us with your mailing
address and the “ship to” address along with your approximate build date.
3. Our architect will then send a first draft of your structure to mark up. You
can make any changes that you would like to. Just give our staff a call and
we will work with you throughout this process.
4. When the draft is approved, we will then proceed to the working
blueprints. All blueprints are engineered specifically for your building
location and to meet your local building code. This includes wind load,
snow load etc.
5. At this time, our Amish mill will prepare your Post and Beam structure
according to our architectural drawings. The balance of your payment will
be due at this time. We will then arrange for the shipment to be delivered
at the time specified by you. Your lumber package will arrive bundled,
labeled and wrapped. We will be available at all times to guide your
builder through the construction process.
6. When you are ready, the roofing materials that you have chosen will be
shipped to you along with any additional options that you have chosen.
A standard 29 gauge Imperial Rib Roof system is included in your
structures price.

Things You Will Need To Do

1. Contact local builders to get estimates for construction costs or we can
give you names of builders that have built our structures in your area.

2. All necessary site work
· Pad
· Electrical
· Foundation
· Plumbing
· Building Permits

2. Install individual footers for beams per local building requirements; we
strongly suggest hiring a concrete contractor. (We supply the Simpson
strong tie footing bracket to bolt the beams to the foundation)
3. Contract electric, plumbing and concrete contractors for bids. Your
general contractor can do this or you can do this yourself. Again, we are
available to guide you in the right direction.

We recommend that you use a high quality wash and sealer for your structure. The sealer can be tinted for your personal touch and should be applied to the interior and exterior. We can supply this for you or your builder can. These products will protect and seal the wood to keep that “new” look for years to come. Depending on your location we will recommend certain products or a combination thereof to protect against termites and wood boring insects along with the effects of inclement weather.

Presently we use the Perma-Chink Systems and Wood Iron.

You can sit back and enjoy your brand new Custom Beam Barn Structure. We hope that you’ll send us photographs of you and your structure to feature on our web site.
